Another weekend is upon us and the fixtures keep on coming.
The pick of the division one fixtures this week see’s Glasgow rivals Hillhead 4th XI play Western 3rd XI. It’s Hillheads opening match of the season whilst Western had an impressive 5-0 win last week. Clydesdale 3rd XI shared the points with Giffnock last week, they will be hoping to go one better against newly promoted Hillhead 5th XI this weekend. Kelburne 3rd XI travel to Eastwood High School as they face Giffnock, whilst the other match sees Clydesdale 4th XI host Helensburgh at Titwood.
GHK will be hoping to maintain their strong start in division two from last week, as they welcome Uddingston 4th XI to Glasgow. Meanwhile, Dumfries face a trip to Uddingston 3rd XI as they play the recently relegated side. Founded as an alumni club of Strathclyde University, Rottenrow 2nd XI will face their ‘younger brothers’ in Strathclyde University 2nd XI’s first match of the season at the National Hockey Centre. Ayr will hoping to put last weeks poor performance behind them, as they take on newly promoted Hillhead 6th XI. The other match see’s Greenock 2nd XI host Western 4th XI at the new Inverclyde Academy pitch.
Only the three matches in division four as two sides hoping for promotion clash at Balgray. Hillhead 7th XI and Clydesdale 5th XI both had strong opening matches and will relish the fight on the pitch on Saturday. Dumfries 2nd XI will host Hillhead 8th XI in a match that should show off the best of the young West District players. Uddingston 5th XI travel to play Giffnock 2nd XI.
